Title: Finance Manager

The Chamwell Centre Charity sets out to transform the lives of children and adults with disabilities whether permanent or temporary, mental, or physical across Gloucestershire.

The charity offers a range of services to help improve disabled people’s well-being, through physical fitness and social interaction in the state-of-the-art Chamwell Centre, located next to the Milestone School in Longford.

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join us to oversee the finance function of the charity.

Reporting to The Chair of Trustees and Centre Manager you will be responsible for the overall running of the finance function.

You will have 2 direct reports, our Payroll Administrator and Finance Administrator and will be responsible for overseeing their work, training, and development.

Key responsibilities

· Providing financial oversight to the organisation

· Line management responsibilities for 2 team members

· Reviewing monthly payroll

· Production of monthly management accounts with analysis for review and discussion by the Board of Trustees at regular Trustee meetings

· Managing contracts with donors to ensure that income is drawn down in a timely and efficient manner.Managing the annual budgeting and business planning cycle

· Managing ongoing services including VAT, audit, banking, and investments

· Ensuring statutory financial responsibilities and reporting requirements are met.

· Managing of annual accounts through liaison with Auditors

· Responsibility for ensuring the Charity is following appropriate UK tax, accounting, and other appropriate legislation.

· Monitoring, reviewing, and managing key risks affecting the Charity.

· Improving processes and systems

About you

Our ideal candidate will bring significant experience gained within a senior financial role and should include payroll and pension management.

You will need to have a recognised financial or accounting qualification such as AAT, CIMA, ACCA, and experience of using Xero accounting software.

An analytical and strategic thinker with demonstrable experience of and planning, prioritising, and achieving targets and delivering to deadlines.

The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, able to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders and confidence to represent the Charity at appropriate meetings.

If you have worked within the not-for-profit sector this would be an advantage as would a genuine passion for the wellbeing of others and a drive to improve the lives of individuals and communities
