Hours:
6 hours per week, Sundays 10am-4pm | and/or | 4 hours per week, Mondays 3.30pm-7.30pm (some flexibility may be required)
The successful candidate will have experience in planning lessons and swim sessions in consultation with other staff members to ensure they reflect the Centre's mission of delivering services to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of our centre users.
To recommend and assist with the development of marketing material to promote the Chamwell swimming classes.
To deliver and evaluate the lessons programme to ensure it meets the needs of Centre users.
Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used appropriately.
Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques.
Be a positive role model, providing a fun environment which motivates and encourages children and adults to participate in swimming.
Essential
Hold STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification
Hold a valid safety qualification, ie: National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), or equivalent
Perseverance and patience
Good communicator
Excellent team player
Willingness to have a flexible approach to working hours
Ability to encourage people and put them at ease
Desirable
Hold STA Level 2 Award: Aquatic Teaching - People with Disabilities
Experience in Halliwick Concept trained
Trained in the use of hoists (however full training will be given)
First Aid trained, ie: STA Pool Emergency Responder qualification
This role will require a successful outcome of an enhanced DBS check.
