The Role
We are looking to recruit a team of individuals to undertake lifeguarding duties during both structured and unstructured sessions in the Hydrotherapy Pool area. You will maintain a vigilant watch of the pool areas in accordance with the operating procedures and take necessary action to ensure the safety of all pool users and staff.
For users requiring hoist assistance you will assist users and their carers to safely access the pool – full training will be given.
Safety is paramount and you will be involved in all aspects of pool safety including inspecting equipment, pool water testing, highlighting maintenance issues, spotting hazards and taking appropriate action.There will be some reception duties so you will need a warm and welcoming approach, promoting a positive image of the facility
This is just the beginning. The job and hours can grow as you grow in the role, and as the service develops.
About you
You will need to be a NPLQ Qualified Lifeguard and a Qualified First Aider with knowledge of CPR, AED and emergency medical procedures. You should be an excellent team player with good communication skills. The ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations is essential, as is the ability to work unsupervised and use your own initiative. Experience of working with people with disabilities is preferable. Some experience of working in a reception would be helpful but not essential.
